5 Golfers I Just Can't Cheer For

When I was scrolling through twitter I saw someone had made a list of pro golfers that they just can't cheer for so I decided to do the same. Obviously, I don't go out of my way to root against these guys on my weekend, I just don't cheer for them to win when I see them on the top. This was made in good fun, and not just to talk about how much I dislike these guys.

5. Billy Horshel - The 2014 Tour Champion did have a great story when he won last year after going into a bad stretch. He later revealed that his wife was having serious trouble with staying sober, so it was cool when he won a tournament last year. However, after the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay, Billy Ho really rubbed me the wrong way. He complained the entire week about the greens whenever media was around, and then he would go onto twitter and reply all night to fans who disagreed with him. Since then I just haven't looked at him the same. Seems like he makes noise a couple times a year for complaining about course set ups.

4. Bryson DeChambeu - I'm just not into the science thing. There is just something I don't like about using a compass on the green or all his irons being the same length. Social media also noticed at The Memorial Tournament every time DeChambeu's playing partner was wayward off the tee he was quick to point and wave his arms in an obscene manner almost as if he was happy he is opponent just went way off line. When Bryson was turning pro we all expected him to win immediately, it took him a couple years, but he is starting to win. DeChambeu has won twice in the last year and looks to defend his championship this week at the John Deer. DeChambeu looks like in a couple years he could start to win a major or two.

3. Ian Poulter - The Englishman almost seems like he wants people to hate him. He is not afraid to speak his opinion which often comes off as whiny to me. Poulter won this year at the Shell Houston Open and is having one of his best seasons of his career. Poulter is also a Ryder Cup killer for team Europe which also seems to push a lot of American fans away from him and he isn't afraid to get into twitter wars with fans. In fact, Ian once posted a video to twitter of his kids eating cereal out of the Ryder Cup trophy which caused some fans to think it was disrespectful. Although, Poulter really pushed it over the top when in 2008 he said "I don't want to disrespect any player, but I haven't played to my full potential, and when I do, it was simply just be me and Tiger." Poulter just gets under a lot of fans skin. He is loved in Europe, and disliked in the US. With that being said, I'm happy he's playing well again and seeing him sush crowds is something that always gets me. Poulter is looking poised to return back to the Ryder Cup . In his last 9 events he's finished outside the top 25 just once and has climbed back up to 28th in the world, so I wouldn't be suprised to see him on the leader board in The Open.

2. Bubba Watson - This is one guy who has never hit a bad shot in his life. Everytime he does it's either 1.) someone snapped a photo in his back swing. 2.) He had a mud ball in the middle of the fairway. 3.) It was his caddie's Ted Scott's fault. Although Ted Scott and Bubba have a GREAT relationship off the course so I bet Bubba is a pretty cool guy when he's not playing golf, but it just seems as if every tournament he is yelling at a fan or his caddie.

1. Patrick Reed - The Masters champion is kind of an American version of Ian Poulter. Europeans don't like him because he's a Ryder Cup killer, and most Americans don't like him because he's just straight up cocky. In golf you must be a little cocky, but Reed takes it to another level. When he first broke out on tour he ensured fans he would be world number 1 in a short time. After The Masters win some more came about his college life how he was got cheating in his time at Georgia and lied to the coach about his two arrests for public intoxication. Despite his cockiness, Reed is starting to back up his word, he hasn't finished worse than 4th in the last three majors. He may be playing good, but I won't be cheering for him next week at The Open.
