Recap: Franch Open Day 2

The French Open played much easier on Day 2. After just four scores that were under 70 yesterday, today there were 23 scores of sub 70.

The leader is Marcus Kinhult who shot the round of the day, a -6 under 65. The 21 year old from Sweden's best finish on the tour is a 3rd place finish at the Qatar Masters. He is currently ranked 183rd in the world.

Big Names In Contention

World Number 2 Justin Thomas shot another 70 today as he heads into the weekend at -2 and tied for 5th. After a solid week at the US Open Matthew Fitzpatrick is playing some solid golf right now as he is in contention at -2 tied for fifth as well.

Two men from Spain also had solid days in Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia. Rahm shot a 69 and is -3 tied for 3rd place. Meanwhile Garcia shot a 70 to get back to even par for the week and he is tied for 16th going into the weekend.

The Open Qualifying - The top three placers who have not yet qualified for The Open will be given a spot in the field. As of right now that would be Marcus Kinholt, Bradely Dredge, and Gregory Harvet and Julian Suri are tied for the final spot so they would both go.

Rafa Cabrera Bello, Ian Poulter, and Tommy Fleetwood who all had big weeks at the US Open will the miss cut and so will 2014 US Open champion Martin Kaymer.
