Bukiwe Nonina Plans To Be a Dominant Female Boxer

The boxing awards that took place this year were highly welcomed by some of the members of the boxing fraternity. This was a greatly anticipated comeback for the awards. Many people walked away with great accolades and among those was Bukiwe "Anaconda" Nonina.

Nonina started boxing in 2009. "The whole family was doing boxing except me who played soccer," she said. "So, I also turned to boxing."

She has since built a fantastic fighting record and has brought home some fantastic wins a several times. She has successfully defended her Bantamweight title 5 times, giving her the rights to own it. She is the first female boxing fighter to achieve that. "I feel great and motivated," she said. "This shows I am the best and I am ready to face the best in the world."

Nonina said that she wants to be the best female boxer in the world. "My goal is to see myself being the first female boxer to bring the WBC title to SA," said Nonina. She said that she is working hard with her coach, Immanuel Mutavhatsindi to remain a record breaker.

Her next fight is on the 31st of March 2017 where she will be taking on Germany's Alesia Graf for the WBF World Title. The fight will take place in Cape Town, Khayelitsha Oliver Tambo hall.
