Indians get Edwin Encarnacion form the Blue Jays.
Hey Everybody. The Cleveland Indians chances of making it back to the postseason have just taken a Major Boost. This comes as a result of the Indians getting former Toronto Blue Jays Superstar Edwin ENCARNACION. The deal is 3-years, $65 Million Dollars. A 4th year is included worth $20 million and a $5 million dollar buyout that doesn't include a any opt-outs. ENCARNACION said afterwards " I am very excited about coming to Cleveland. I want to win a championship and I know I can bring one home to the Indians organization. We will see what the future holds for me. ENCARNACION is very excited as you can tell. He's 34 years of age and he has played with the Toronto Blue Jays for the last 5 years after leaving the Cincinnati Reds for a few years. Over the last 5 years ENCARNACION's numbers have been great. 201 home runs over that span and his hitting has been Fantastic ".272/ .367 / .544". He has 474 strikeouts and 392 walks in that span. The Blue Jays didn't go home empty handed though. The Blue Jays got Cash and a 1st and 2nd round Draft Picks. But here's the Question can the Blue Jays compete this upcoming season we will see.
The Indians chances of making the playoffs and winning the World Series have all of the Sudden just shot through the roof. Here's my take, The Deal that ENCARNACION signed was the best he could get. But he's going to have Jason KINPIS, Michael Brantley and Francisco LINDOR as teammates. That's something that any baseball player could ever dream of. The Indians are really going to make some noise this season and they will be back in the postseason. And don't be surprised if we see the Indians back in the World Series in 2017. Now a lot of people have said that Edwin ENCARNACION pulled a Michael Westbrook when he signed with the Indians. Remember back last season the Indians did play the Blue Jays in the ALCS. But that series ended in 5 games and the Blue Jays hitting was a joke. No Edwin ENCARNACION DID NOT PULL a Michael Westbrook. What Westbrook did was he took the high road and left Oklahoma City after they lost to Golden State in 7 games in Last Years NBA west finals after being up 3-1. Westbrook signed with the enemy bottom line. What Edwin ENCARNACION did was a good move on his part because he can now play for a team that has a Legitimate chance of winning the World Series. And if he can stay healthy he can take the Indians to the Promise Land. So this is to all of the MLB fans out there, Lookout for the Cleveland Indians because they will
be back in the playoffs and back in the World Series.
