Hello Everybody. Thursday Night the CRISLER Arena in Ann Arbor Michigan was the Place to be if you are a Basketball Fan. The Wolverines Have won 3-games in a row. Thursday Night they Upset the No.11 Wisconsin Badgers 64-58. This win was very important to Michigan, I will get to that in a Moment. But 1st here are the Highlights of this big upset.
MORTIZ Wagner was the Hero of the Game with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Zak Irvin was great in a supporting role with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Muhammad-Ali ABDUR-RAHKMAN also had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in this Huge Upset Victory. The Only Real Player that showed up for Wisconsin was Ethan HAPP with 22 points,6 rebounds and 6 assists. This was a great win for Michigan as a matter of fact Michigan Coach John BEILEIN said after the game " We Needed this win badly because we struggled for the 1st part of the season. Now we can make some noise down the stretch and get into the NCAA tournament. But we still have a Long way to go but this Upset win is what we needed badly. Going Forward I am very confident that we can Possibly be the Dark Horse that could steal the Big 10 championship."
Now Here's the Question in Madison, What's going on with the Badgers. Here's My take on Wisconsin, The Badgers have lost 2 in a row. They Lost to Northwestern of all teams. I know the Badgers are having issues with Injuries. Ethan HAPP said after the game " We can't win when I am the only player that can Score but I am playing my heart out and it's showing. But this was a Major Setback for our team and our hopes of getting a higher seed for the tournament. We can still win some games. But if we are going to make any noise in the NCAA tournament. We have to win the Big 10 tournament. And we can't win that if we are losing to teams like Northwestern and Michigan." Wisconsin faces Maryland at home Next Week and as it stands Right Now according to ESPN's Joe LUNARDI, Wisconsin is a 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. But that's going to take a hit Next Week as a result of this Loss to Michigan On Thursday Night.
The Wolverines Are now back in the Discussion for a Tournament Spot. Here's my take on Michigan, The Wolverines have shocked Wisconsin. They have also Won 3 straight. But their RPI is only 54, Their Strength of Schedule is only 42. And they are only 1-2 against the Top 25. They have a record of 17-9 and they are now 7-6 in the Big 10. But this win over No.11 Wisconsin On Thursday Night is going to look Really Great in March when The Committee makes their Selections for Selection Sunday. As it Stands Right Now, According to ESPN'S Joe LUNARDI he has Michigan as a 10 seed. But they are on the Bubble
at the moment. But this Huge Upset Victory is a Major Help in Ann Arbor if Michigan wants to be in the Big Dance. Michigan Plays Minnesota on Sunday and as it stands Right Now Minnesota is a 7 seed for the Tournament with a 19-7 record and they have a identical record of 7-6 in the Big 10.
