Could Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman end up playing together in Oakland or elsewhere if the Raiders deal falls through?

The Seattle Seahawks are involved in imminent trade talks with the Oakland Raiders about running back Marshawn Lynch who recently was reinstated to resume his playing career after his retirement in 2015. Lynch has dreamed of playing for his hometown team since a youngster. Well there may be another catch to Lynch's return to the NFL, Lynch may want to play with former teammate Richard Sherman. That's right his former Seattle teammate that's also been rumored to be on the trade block as well. The two played together 6 seasons in Seattle, winning a Super Bowl in 2013 and both are California natives. The clarification still leaves a lot of “ifs” in the equation. IF Lynch is unable to reach a satisfactory contract with the Raiders then a trade won’t happen. In that case, IF Richard Sherman is traded to a different team, Lynch would consider talking to THAT team.

If this is in fact true, cloud the Raiders be expanding their trade offer? Will this be too much of a risk for the Raiders to acquire two players that are past their prime? I would say yes but the Raiders would use this strategy to draw fans to the Coliseum after their announced move to Las Vegas. Secondly they would be in a win now mode and try to improve on an impressive 2016 season in which they won the AFC west. If David Carr doesn't break his left they maybe could have advanced further in the playoffs.

If the Raiders do think about bringing in both what would be the cost? Could they lose more that they gain? Stay tuned in the coming days as we see how this pans out in Oakland or elsewhere.
