Baltimore Ravens - Haloti Ngata

Haloti Ngata, Adrian Peterson are two of the top NFL veterans who could be out of a team after the 2014 NFL season. Fans might not like to hear this or even read about their favorite players being next on the list of players to be cut. Unfortunately the NFL is a business and a business that is modeled around a salary cap format.

That being said every year a team has to go a different direction with some teams having to let a star free agent walk or even let proven veteran go to save a few bucks against the cap. Now that the regular season is officially over we have a few weeks of playoff football followed by the Super Bowl to sit back and examine every team around the NFL. That is exactly what NFL general managers and coaching staffs are doing for the teams out of the playoffs.

This year the list of players who could be on the end of the chopping block include Larry Fitzgerald, Haloti Ngata, Adrian Peterson, Sam Bradford, Andre Johnson and Marques Colston. The list could also include players like Tamba Hali, Jake Long, Jahri Evans and Dannell Ellerbe. As far as some of the teams that could also look to shred salaries the New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers are all over the projected salary cap for 2015.

Here is what each of the star players would save their current teams toward their salary cap if they are released for the 2015 NFL season.

Haloti Ngata, Baltimore Ravens: $8.500 million in cap room.

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings: $13 million in cap room.

Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals: $9.2 million in cap room.

Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams: $12.9 million in cap room.

Andre Johnson, Houston Texans: $8.8 million in cap room.
