Look familiar? For once, I can say I have the committee figured out. It was probably pure luck, but I'm okay with that for now. The college football committee unveiled their first rankings last night, and these six teams were in this order.

Georgia has looked impressive and has the wins to add to its resume. A win over now #3 Notre Dame looks impressive, and they added a win over now #16 Mississippi State. Besides the Notre Dame game, the Bulldogs have dominated every game they've played in.

Alabama was jumped by Georgia because they have yet to play anyone of note. Even though they beat #3 Florida State at the beginning of the year, the Seminoles have spiraled downward this season. The eye test is what Alabama has passed, and with flying colors. Minus an eight point win over Texas A&M, no other game has been within less than double digits. They will get their chance with ranked LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn on the schedule. Oh, and Mercer. If anyone cares about that game.

Notre Dame enters as the first one loss team in the Top 4, and beat out two undefeated teams in Wisconsin (#9) and Miami (#10). Notre Dame's one loss was mentioned above to the #1 Georgia Bulldogs, and have added wins against USC (#17) and NC State (#20). Those are good wins for now, but those two squads might be going the wrong direction.

Clemson has a bad loss, sure, but they still have impressive wins over Auburn (#14) and Virginia Tech (#13). Losing to Syracuse hurts, but their quality of wins help them overcome that loss for now.

Oklahoma is ranked above Ohio State, and I'm not really sure why their was any debate about it. The Sooners beat the Buckeyes, and their one loss to Iowa State has gotten better with the Cyclones entering the Top 15.

Those Buckeyes deserve the final spot with their win over Penn State, but will need the Sooners to lose if they want to make a jump. They might just get their wish this weekend when Oklahoma heads to Stillwater.
