Yelich Out For The Season With Knee Injury

Hello sports fans.

I have a ton of headlines to get to in the NHL and NFL.

First, we'll start with MLB.

MLB

The Milwaukee Brewers have lost their star player for the rest of the year.

Christian Yelich fractured his right knee and his chances of winning the National League's Most Valuable Player award is really slim.

That is too bad.

Despite not playing for my Toronto Blue Jays, I have an utmost appreciation for Yelich as a ball player.

Also in baseball, Minnesota Twin's Byron Buxton is probably done for the year because of a left shoulder injury.

NHL

The Boston Bruins have signed head coach, Bruce Cassidy, to a multiyear contract extension.

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed Josh Morrissey to an eight-year, $50 million contract extension.

The New York Rangers have signed Brendan Lemieux to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Calgary Flames have signed Michael Stone to a one-year, $700,000 contract extension.

The Minnesota Wild has signed Kevin Fiala to a two-year, $6 million contract.

The New Jersey Devils have signed Paval Zacha to a three-year, $6.75 million contract.

NFL

Sam Darnold

It was bad enough that the New York Jets lost 17-16 to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday after being ahead 16-0, now the team has lost a few of their players.

The Jets have lost quarterback, Sam Darnold for multiple weeks because of mononucleosis.

The Jets also lost Quincy Enunwa for the rest of the season because of a neck injury.

What makes matters worse for the Jets is Nathan Shepherd is suspended for six games for performance enhancing drugs.

Washington Redskin's Derrius Guice has reportedly underwent knee surgery today and is probably out for six to eight weeks.

Kansas City Chief's Tyreek Hill is reportedly out for four to six weeks with a stermoclavicular joint injury.

Finally, Oakland Raider's Johnathan Abrams reportedly injured his shoulder and is probably out for the rest of the season.
