Weekly Waiver Wire Adds

With another week gone by in the MLB fantasy season, injury replacements and spot starters are always needed. Finding suitable waiver wire players to shore up those roster spots aren't always easy decisions, here are four players that may be able to help.

James Paxton, SP, Mariners - With team ace Felix Hernandez landing on the 15-DL and expected to miss a couple starts, Paxton has been recalled from Triple-A to fill his spot in the rotation. The Canadian has been successful in the majors so far in his young career by posting a W-L record of 12-8 with a 3.16 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP. If he does extremely well in the King's absence he may force the Mariners hand to prolong his stay, if not, he's worth adding until the King's return. (Owned in 6% of Yahoo Leagues)

Doug Fister, SP, Astro's - Much like the Astro's team, Fister struggled out of the gate in April by posting a 1-3 record with a 5.56 ERA over four starts. He turned a corner in May and went 3-0 while posting a 2.84 ERA, which has lowered his season ERA to 3.86 which is slightly above his career ERA average of 3.45. If he can hover around his career numbers for the rest of the season he could be a valuable contributor to your team (Owned in 11% of Yahoo Leagues)

Adam Duvall, OF, Reds - Duvall had one hell of a month of May, over 97 AB's he crushed 11 homers and drove in 24 while maintaining a .289 AVG. If he can keep this up he will be a legitimate threat in a Reds lineup that doesn't have a lot of pop. Duvall has never really been given a steady amount of playing time, so with the Reds giving him this opportunity he's clearly taking advantage of it. (Owned in 59% of Yahoo Leagues)

Scott Kazmir, SP, Dodgers - Kazmir had quite an unforgettable first month with his new team, batter's hit .277 against him and his ERA topped out at 5.76. He seemed to have found his stride in May as his ERA finished off at 3.49 but more importantly, batters only hit .188 against him. Look for him to carry his success through the rest of the season and have his numbers settle around his career averages. (Owned in 61% of Yahoo leagues)

Adam Lind, 1B, Mariners - An abysmal April saw Lind only muster 1 HR, 3 RBI, and a .234 AVG over 64 AB's didn't leave much to look forward going into May. Fortunately for Lind he was able to turn it up at the plate and hit 5 HR, 20 RBI, and a .282 AVG over 71 AB's. He'll still mainly bat against right handed pitching so if you don't want to shore up a spot on your roster with a platoon player you may want to look somewhere else. If you can swing it, Lind is a great option. (Owned in 22% of Yahoo Leagues)
