Would have Joined his biggest rival?

Mike Holmgren who made history by taking Seattle Seahawks to their first super bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers may have been the face of the San Francisco 49'ers.  I would have loved to see that happen I know he struggled with the Cleveland Browns but who doesn't struggle with that organization. The Browns are where great players go to struggle, similar to Oakland. I believe he would have been an amazing hire Mike is an offensive guru. He made Matt Hasslebeck into a star quarterback. I am stunned that Jed York didn't consider this further.

"This last December, after the season, I had a couple of chances, and almost took one of them, and then realized that, 'What am I doing?'" Holmgren told Eisen. "You know, I'd be traveling across the country and my grandkids are all in Seattle, and my life is really good but I had the bug still, and then I told my agent, 'You know, the one I'd really kind of like to do is San Francisco,' and so they reached out to the 49ers and essentially, I got the call back saying, 'Nah, we're going with a younger guy." Dan Hanzus, (NFL Network)

The real question is why did York pass on experience knowing this is really surprising. Imagine what Colin Kaepernick would have done with a man who is a true leader. Jed York has made questionable moves in the past, but this is beyond foolish. Jim Tomsula has never been to a Super Bowl, meanwhile Mike Holmgren has and his a solid football mind. I think most players would have stayed under Mike Holmgren he would have inspired hope and a vision of the future. I am disappointed learning this news and I know most fans of San Francisco are stunned to learn this. The real question what is Jed York's agenda? If it is to win fire Jim Tomsula and hire Mike before it is too late.
