Dewayne Dedmon is the next Tristan Thompson

Dewayne Dedmon is going to become a very special player in the Spurs System.

Dewayne Dedmon is going to be the Spur's version of Tristan Thompson. I saw clips of him when he played with the Orlando Magic and I realize that the Spurs got a great deal at two years and six million dollars.  Sham Charania of The Vertical was the first to report the exciting news. Dewayne has a great motor and he can rebound and bring energy to the team. Dewayne is going to be a great defensive piece and he will do great things off the bench for the Spurs.  He adds even more depth to a great frontcourt in Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge. The Spurs are building a excellent game-plan and they are looking like the defending champions the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Spurs size and athleticism is going to be a tough task for anyone in the NBA including the Warriors with this recent acquisition.  I think what makes the move even greater is the Spurs beat out the Warriors for Dewayne. The Warriors frontcourt is so far really lacking with David West, Draymond Green, Zaza Pachulia, and Damian Jones.

I am also ecstatic about the move and the Spurs get younger and more athletic by signing Dewayne. He is going to become a great player in the Spurs organization.  I love the balance of young athletes and veterans. If Tim Duncan does not retire the Spurs bench will be elite this year.  Tim Duncan and Dewayne Dedmon off the bench would be very formidable frontcourt. I think this move makes up for the loss of Boban Marjanovic and I wish him well with the Detroit Pistons. I will miss Boban's fun personality and he does have potential. However, he is one year older and the Spurs don't have the cap space to match the Pistons offer. Here is more details from Fox Sport reporter Brett Pollakoff on Boban Marjanovic leaving to Detroit. http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/spurs-boban-marjanovic-offer-sheet-pistons-three-year-restricted-free-agent-070716

The Spurs will be one of the best rebounding and defensive teams in 2016-2017 season. The Spurs will need Danny Green to be more consistent from three. The amazing thing is the Spurs still are planning some more moves and they already looking like a championship team. I am really excited to see what the finished roster will look like at the end of Summer. The future is really bright with the Dewayne Dedmon signing with the Spurs.
