After the Spurs nearly escaped the Golden State Warriors winning on a buzzer beater 63-61. The San Antonio Spurs came out with a real desire and passion willing them to a dominating victory versus the Portland Trailblazers 85-69 in Summer League Play. Bryn Forbes had a solid game today scoring 14 points. (NBA.Com)  Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons were very consistent on the offensive and defensive end. The biggest surprise today was Youssou Ndoye who could be a intriguing developing player on the Spurs. I was really impressed by his hustle in the paint.

Becky Hammon has been really impressive with her adjustments and play-calling. Hopefully, the Spurs can keep this momentum going to their next game versus the Chicago Bulls. The Spurs clearly play better when they spread the ball and go with a faster tempo. However, the great thing about Summer League is the fact teams can see what work and what doesn't work when it comes to their developing young core. I am optimistic that the Spurs will figure it out and repeat as the Summer League Champions in Las Vegas. I am excited to watch the San Antonio Spurs take on the Chicago Bulls on ESPN 2 on Tuesday night. The two players to watch in the game will be Bryn Forbes against his former Michigan State Spartans teammate Denzel Valetine.
