Philip Rivers lands mega deal from San Diego

NFL.com is reporting that Philip Rivers has agreed to a four year extension with Philip Rivers, and this sends major shock waves throughout the NFL.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Rivers' extension includes $83.25 million in new money, with $65 million in guarantees. Gregg Rosenthal, (NFL.com)
I believe this was the perfect storm, and Philip Rivers had to remain with San Diego. I bet Ron Burgundy is smiling at this move, and he is playing the jazz flute. When you look at the AFC West the Chiefs will be solid most likely, however they are relying on Alex Smith and defense.
The Broncos have Peyton Manning, and I believe this will be his final year. He may surprise if he remains healthy. He has been my favorite quarterback in the NFL, and I will miss him. The Raiders might be a decent team, however we need to see if Derek Carr takes the next step.
The real question will be the Super Bowl, and that is what San Diego is lacking. Philip Rivers needs to take them over the hump. I believe he can and I will root for him. I don't this will be the year, yet I do think his time coming soon. He is due to win a ring, and he is a very good Quarterback.
