The San Antonio Spurs are no longer undefeated in the Las Vegas Summer League after losing in a tightly contested game versus the Chicago Bulls.  The Spurs as a team missed shots they typically have been hitting. I am disappointed at the Spurs losing to the Bulls. However, the Spurs can still rebound and win the Las Vegas Summer League. It will be interesting to see how the Spurs play without Kyle Anderson. He was really impressive this year in Summer League Play. However, the good news is other players can now get some more reps.

I was pleasantly surprised with Jarnell Stokes on the offensive and defensive end. Jarnell had 15 points and 7 rebounds and he really moved around with ease in the paint. Jonathon Simmons also was really good and he looked even quicker than before. I am also intrigued by Will Cummings he has a very impressive transition game and he can also knock down the three ball.

I loved watching Bryn Forbes taking on Denzel Valentine on the defensive end. Bryn Forbes is really a fantastic playmaker on the court. Even though he struggled from three today he was almost on target on every shot just missing. I have never seen a player with so much accuracy even his misses looks like dimes. Dejounte Murray struggled with layups but despite that he had some phenomenal moves on display. He is really a special raw talent and he looks like the point guard of the future for the Spurs.

Going forward the Spurs have a great chance at winning the Las Vegas Summer League. I am really interested in seeing how the tournament will play out. The Spurs future really looks bright with this young core to develop. I am really excited and hopefully Becky Hammon can make some adjustments and end up repeating as champions. I am really enjoying the great basketball being played. Go Spurs Go!
