Matthew Stafford's nonsensical contract

Let us just get this out of the way, Stafford has proven time and time again how impressive he is. He won 8 out of the 13 games decided by a touchdown or less without Megatron last year. For every interception that he threw last year, he had about 2 and a half touchdowns which is superior to other number one draft picks like Andrew Luck and Alex Smith .But is his 150 million dollar contract worth it? As a number one pick, he has only been to one pro bowl, has never won a playoff game with three wild card game losses, and has only won 5 out of 49 games against teams with a winning record. Plus he hasn't been in contention for MVP yet. These setbacks are extremely crucial with the rise of Mitchell Trubinsky for the Bears and Aaron Rodgers for the Packers; who has won the NFC North 5 out of the last 6 seasons. Also with the splash of Alshon Jeffrey to the Eagles and the Giants chemistry of Eli and Odell on the rise, the desired spot for that NFC wild card spot could be lost.

Listen Matt Stafford is 100 percent a top 10 QB but if you want to get all your money's worth, you need to block out all of the other factors getting in your way. If you pay someone 150 million dollars, how are you going to distribute money to other pieces of your team. This is why Tom Brady isn't paid a 9 figure contract. Belleick has stemmed away from paying too much for Brady so that way he can obtain and keep players like Wide Receiver Brandin Cooks and Cornerback Stephon Gilmore. (Just if you weren't clear the Patriots have won 2 out of the last 3 superbowls). Stafford only has so much longer to move into the Elite Quarterback category but with all these negative signs, they might as well just trade him and restart.
