Purdue at Nebraska - Predictions

Did I miss anything since I was gone?

No?

Cool.

After being absolutely pantsed on homecoming last week, the Boilers travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to take on the 8th ranked Cornhuskers.

But  really, the big news of the last week was that the Boilers have finally moved on from Darrel Hazell. Even after Bobinski said that it was irresponsible to fire a coach in the middle of the season, he decided enough was enough. The lack of consistency and just overall dumbassery (see taking a timeout to kneel et. al), it's over. It's finally, finally over. WR Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Gerad Parker has taken over. The reason I didn't write a post about this before is because I didn't believe there was anything that I could add to the discussion that hadn't already been seen. The news broke Sunday afternoon as I was doing my senior design project and I honestly felt the other vast majority of Purdue writers and Purdue twitter had it covered. But for now, at least for 6 games, we have Parker. I'm fine with the move because Parker is highly respected from past and present players. He has a solid argument for Football Guy of the Week as well because on Wednesday, he had the boys practice outside in the rain. Hazell would've had them in Mollenkopf. Luckily for Parker, his first game is on the road, as a 24 point underdog in  one of the most difficult places to play in the country.

This year, Nebraska looks like it is back to Pelini's Nebraska. Just a really solid top 15 team. For whatever god forsaken reason, Tommy Armstrong is still in school and is at the helm of the offense. Taylor Newby is still the leader on the ground and Alonzo Moor has been dominating  the air. This team is still very, very good and will certainly be a challenge for our Boilers.

Prediction: This one is gonna be difficult. Memorial Stadium is a very difficult place to play. Especially when Nebraska is a top ten team.  However, I think our Boilers are gonna be emotional and charged up for this one. Midseason Tommy Armstrong comes back and the Boilers squeak out by a last second field goal by JD and become the Spoilermakers once again.
