Top First Inning: Stephens throws a scoreless frame to begin the game

Bottom First Inning: Scooter Gennett drives in a run on an RBI double to give the Reds a 1-0 lead.

Top Second Inning: Stephens throws a 1-2-3 inning.

Bottom Second Inning: Reds go down in order.

Top Third Inning: Red Sox get a runner in scoring position, but cannot plate a run.

Bottom Third Inning: Reds go down in order for the second consecutive inning.

Top Fourth Inning: Stephens throws another scoreless outing.

Bottom Fourth Inning: Red Sox starter Doug Fister gets some help from his defense to keep the Reds off the board.

Top Fifth Inning: Rafael Devers ties the game at one with a solo home run.

Bottom Fifth Inning: Reds score on a Red Sox error to reclaim the lead. Billy Hamilton then follows with an RBI triple to give the Reds a two run cushion.

Top Sixth Inning: Stephens continues to deal as he holds the Red Sox offense at bay.

Bottom Sixth Inning: After retiring a batter, Doug Fister is relieved by Fernando Abad. Abad manages to get out of a bases loaded jam.

Top Seventh Inning: Wandy Peralta comes into the game to relieve Stephens. After getting two outs, Peralta is relieved by Michael Lorenzen. Patrick Kivlehan goes into the game to play left field in a double switch. Lorenzen gets the final out and the Red Sox don't plate a run.

Bottom Seventh Inning: Changes for the Red Sox as they make a double switch with Christian Vazquez coming in to play catcher and Brandon Workman comes in to relieve Abad who was pinch hit for in the top of the seventh. Reds score on a crazy where Billy Hamilton steals second base (even though he was in a pickle) and the Red Sox commit an error, but also were not covering home which allowed Hamilton to score. Robby Scott comes in to the game to relieve Workman.

Top Eighth Inning: Bryan Price makes a double switch after two Boston runners reach base with Phillip Ervin coming in to play left field and Raisel Iglesias comes in to relieve Lorenzen. Red Sox tie it on a Mookie Betts double. Devers gives the Red Sox the lead on a RBI single.

Bottom Eighth Inning: Changes for the Red Sox as Deven Marrero comes into the game to play third base and Addison Reed comes into the game to relieve Scott. Reed shuts down the Reds offense as this game heads to the last inning of the game.

Top Ninth Inning: Kevin Shackelford comes in to the game to relieve Iglesias. Shackelford throws a 1-2-3 inning.

Bottom Ninth Inning: Craig Kimbrel comes into the game to relieve Reed who was pinch hit for in the top of the ninth. Kimbrel retires the side and the game is a final.
