Former Braves, Sioux stars tip off collegiate careers for UTTC

Xavier Norris and Adrian Farmer tip off their collegiate basketball careers tonight as United Tribes Technical College takes on Stone Child College.

Pretty excited to see how United Tribes Technical College does tonight in their season opener with Stone Child College as two north-central South Dakota players, Xavier Norris and Adrian Farmer, both freshman, begin what could be excellent college careers.

The X-man returneth:

Really excited to see Norris get back on the court, for a couple of reasons. After a semester, I think, at Arizona State, and a few years of working back in Eagle-Butte, Norris brings his game back to the court. Sometimes, when you step away from college for a couple of years, it's hard to go back, but Norris kinda promised all along that he was going to get back to doing what he loved, and now he is.

Listed as a 6-foot-1 guard, Norris is a good leaper, has better than average ball handling skills. Interested to see how those skills translate to the NEXT level. One thing that I think has to be working in his favor is he'll be playing against 18 and 19 year olds and Norris is going to be authoring up some grown-man ball against the younger kids he'll be facing.

Adrian Farmer's skills should translate to the next level:

Former Lower Brule standout, Adrian Farmer working against former White River player, Lucas Iron Heart.

At 6-foot-5, Farmer, along with two other players at 6-foot-5 is listed as a forward. Farmer had a terrific season for Lower Brule last season and should be an immediate contributor for the Thunderbirds.

Busy week for Norris and Farmer as they play tonight, then again on Saturday vs. Northwest college....

Good luck guys....Go kick some butt!

What happened to the high hair?
