When in doubt, roll with RIDGE!

The Pine Ridge Thorpes battle Custer in their opening round showdown at Lakota Nation.

Wow, so many great stories about to unfold as we all buckle up for Basketball GALORE over the next few days....Let's EAT!

Was yacking with Diabetes Prevention fitness assistant, Joe Left Hand Bull and he asked me who I had winning Lakota Nation? Boys or girls I asked?

Boys - Winnebago I said.

What about girls, I asked him...CEB is No. 1 and Little Wound No. 2 I offered.

"Ehhhhhh, I'll roll with Ridge," he said.

The Pine Ridge boys, who haven't played a game, roll into town Wednesday and promptly hook up with Custer. A roster full of tantalizingly talented names.

1 1 DJ Vitalis 5'7 G 10, 11 11 Tiger Leftwich 6'4 F/C 11, 22 22 Kyle Ecoffey 5'9 G 12, 24 24 Charles Schrader 6'0 G/F 9, 30 30 Courtland Grant 6'1 F/C 11, 34 34 Michael Janis 6'4 F/C 11, 40 40 Greg Brewer 6'2 G/F 11, 42 42 Halin Bad Bear 6'0 G 10, 44 44 Juwon Garnier 6'3 F/C 10,50 50 Corey Brown 6'2 F/C 10, 52 52 Joe O'Rourke 6'2 G/F 10, 55 55 Kevin Jack 6'1 G 12, Braedon Fills Pipe 6'0 G/F

Not a lot of seniors on that roster but Pine Ridge is going to be dang tough over the next few years. Personal favorite, can't wait to see Corey Brown moving people down low.

What will Laura Big Crow's girls do at Lakota Nation

Pine Ridge opened with a 78-24 win over Hot Springs. In a make-up game Saturday, the Lady Thorpes held off a good St. Francis squad, 76-67.

Win the opener vs. Standing Rock and Red Cloud or St. Francis will be waiting...and that gets interesting!
