The Indians Beat The Detroit Tigers 10-1 On Tuesday Night. But Before The Tuesday Night's Contest The Indians Got Some Bad News, The Indians Will Be Without Their Star 3rd Baseman Jose Ramirez For The Next 5-To-7 Weeks.

Ramirez Suffered a Hand Injury Against The Kansas City Royals On Saturday. The Star Third Baseman Went To New York To Have The Surgery. The Injury Happened When Ramirez Took a Hard Swing And Fractured Hamate Bone In His Right Hand In The 1st Inning Of Saturday's Ballgame.

The Indians Hand Specialist, Dr. Thomas Graham Confirmed The Injury And Said That Surgery Was The Only Way To Correct Mr. Ramirez Injury. The Fracture Will Need Time To Heel, Dr. Graham Told Reporters And The Indians Management.

Jose Ramirez Was Told He's Done For The Regular Season, However The Indians Did Say That Ramirez Should Be Back By The First Of October. That Is When The American League Playoffs Start. The Question Is Will The Indians Be In The Playoffs.

Indians Manager Terry Francona Did Talk About The Ramirez Injury And The Indians Playoff Chances, Francona Said The Following.

"Right Now We Are Taking It One Game At a Time, And Yes Jose's Absence From The Field Will Be Felt. But I Do Wish Him a Speedy Recovery. But I Feel Good About The Team We Have Now. As The Playoffs Go We Will Continue Our Quest To Get Their."

Here's My Take..

As Far As The Indians Playoff Chances Go, They Are Looking Pretty Good. The Indians Are 3.5 Games Back Of The Minnesota Twins, And As Of Now The Indians Do Have a 1.5 Game Lead In The Wildcard Race Over The Oakland Athletics And Tampa Bay Rays. Keep In Mind There Are Only 30 Games Left In The Season, And To Answer About The Indians Playoff Chances I Feel Good About Them.

But Ramirez Absence Is Going To Hurt The Indians And The Numbers Don't Lie And Here's What I Mean. Ramirez Has Hit 20 Home Runs And Has 75 RBI's On The Season, Here's What Else I Mean; .254/.325/.463 And An OPS Of .788, So Yes Jose's Presence Will Be Noticed. However Indians Manager Terry Francona Decided To Go With Two Rookies At Third Base And They Will Share Playing Time.

Yu Chang And Mike Freeman Will Both Be Part Of The Indians, The Both Of Them Were Called Up From Triple-A Columbus. Chang Has a .286 Batting Average In Four Games Played. Mike Freeman On The Other Hand, He Has a .286 Batting Average With 4 Home Runs, 20 RBI's In 53 Games Played. He Would Be The Player I Want At Third In a Big Game Situation. The Question Still Remains, When Ramirez Does Comeback Which Is Slated To Be The First Of October Will He Be Ready. I Have Something For You To Keep In Mind. Jose Ramirez, Could Be Going Into a Situation Which Could Be Do Or Die In a Wildcard Game Against The Athletics Or Rays, Or They Could Walk Right Into The American League Division Series. Right Now We Don't Know What Will Happen, But I Will Say This. The Indians Have 30 Games Left In The Season And Can They Catch The Twins And The Division Or Do They Play a Wildcard Game At Home, We Just Don't Know Yet.

Jose Ramirez I Wish You a Speedy Recovery And Your Presence With The Indians Will Be Missed, Get Will Soon Jose.

Bottom Line..
