The Oregon Ducks, have captured the 2019 PAC-12 Championship after beating the Utah Utes 37-15 in a rain storm. This game was over five minutes in. The Utes had nothing on offense and defense against the Ducks of Oregon.

How Did the Ducks upset Utah..

The Ducks had a lot of major stars on both sides of the ball in this championship game. Justin Herbert, he wasn't spectacular but he was good no one the less. Herbert went 14/26 for 193 yards and one touchdown.

This game really belonged to CJ Verdell, he had 18 carries for 208 yards and three touchdowns in the biggest game of his career.

If you think I overlooked the defense, THINK AGAIN!!!!!. The Oregon defense had 6 sacks and 9 tackles for loss in the game. As a matter of fact I have three defensive players that deserve special recognition.

Kayvon Thiodeaux, he was the beast tonight with 2.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss in the dismantle of the Utes.

Bryson Young, he was not that far behind, he had one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss on Friday Night.

Popo Aunavae, he was a big contributor in this vctory, he had one sack and one tackle for loss in the game.

It was Oregon's dominance on both sides of the ball that won this game for the Oregon Ducks, Next stop Pasadena and the 2020 Rose Bowl against the either Wisconsin or Minnesota.

As far as the Oregon Ducks go, if it wasn't for the loss in Tempe to Arizona State the Ducks would be in the discussion for the College Football Playoff. But as far as Justin Herbert goes he had a great career at Oregon, I'm not going to worry about the NFL just yet.

What happened to the Utah Utes tonight..

There were a lot of things that went wrong or the Utes tonight, Stupid mistakes and miscues all night cost them dearly.

Tyler Huntley, he did go 17/29 for 193 yards and two touchdowns, he was also intercepted twice, and yes that hurt them right there.

Zack Moss, he did carry the ball 19 times for 113 yards, but he did not have a touchdown in the game.

The Utes offense was bad on third and fourth down all night. Utah went 4-for-14 on third down, and 0-for-4 on fourth down in the game, so the Utes offense had no answer all night.

The Utah Defense was just as bad or even worst. This was supposed to be the defense that could stop Oregon in their tracks, they didn't even answer the bell and I have the numbers to back it up.

Utah defense during the season and PAC-12 Championship game..

Regular season

11.3 PPG

56.3 Yards RPG

289.0 Yards PG

PAC-12 Championship game

37 points

239 yards rushing

432 yards total offense

That's what happened to the Utah Utes tonight on the big stage in the PAC-12 Championship game, and yes the numbers speak for themselves.

Here's my take..

The Oregon Ducks are going to the Rose Bowl, but what about the Utes of Utah. The Utes blew it big time and they know it. Now the Utes will have to wait and see what happens and see how far they drop after Friday Night. Will it be a case of what happened with Alabama, in my eyes yes, think about it for a minute. Look at how far Alabama dropped after losing to Auburn last Saturday in the Iron bowl.

In my opinion the Utes will suffer the same fate that the Crimson Tide did. Now as far as who was the winner tonight besides Oregon tonight is, it's very simple.

Baylor and Oklahoma face off on Saturday at High Noon and yes the winner of the BIG-12 Championship could be in the College Football Playoff, that depends on what happens in the SEC championship game between LSU-Georgia. If Georgia wins they're in and there's no possible path for either Baylor or Oklahoma unless, and I mean a real outside chance of Virginia upsetting Clemson on Saturday Night in the ACC Championship game.

One piece of the puzzle is complete. Oregon is going to the Rose Bowl, Utah will have to wait and see what their future holds.

Bottom Line..
