Oakland needs the Raiders

I remember moving to the Bay Area and everyone was excited about the return of the Silver and Black. My parents were even trying to get season tickets. We moved from little Savannah Georgia to the Bay in 1989. The only team close us in our native Georgia was the Falcons and they were a four hour drive away. Finally we had a team, my uncles and cousins favorite team just 20 minutes away.

I never did get those season tickets, but I did have a chance to play in the Oakland Coliseum. I was lucky enough to go pro and play back in the place I always wanted to watch games. Playing in the NFL I always told people there are two places you must see a game. One was in Philly at the Vet, and the other was in Oakland. The black hole was crazy and a sight to see. If you couldn't get up for a raiders game something was wrong with you.

The city of Oakland does have a small part to play in this, because the Coliseum is way passed it's prime. The stadium is way outdated, and the Raiders did need a new home. I think the owner Mark Davis jumped on an opportunity to fatten up his pockets. Yes Las Vegas needed a team it just didn't need the Raiders. Vegas will benefit while the people of the Bay suffer a great loss. The revenue, the atmosphere, and just what just seems like the way of life.

I was never a die hard Raider fan,but I know they have the best fans you can ask for. People live and die for the Raiders in the Bay Area, and I can clearly see peoples hearts have been ripped out by the news of the move.
