Blue Jays Reach The Playoffs Second Straight Year

I don't how the team did it, but the Toronto Blue Jays did it.

A 2-1 win over Boston yesterday helped the Jays clinched a playoff spot.

However Jays fans, don't get too exited.

The Blue Jays just put themselves into the wildcard game, not a divisional series as the team did last year.

A loss in the wildcard game means elimination.

To be honest, I had my doubts about the Jays making the post season this year.

In fact, I gave up on the team weeks ago and decided not to watch the games.

That's why I haven't wrote about the Jays lately.  I saw no need.

Last year's American League Most Valuable Player, Josh Donaldson went into a huge slump at the plate at the beginning of September.  A time where the team needed his hot bat.

Edwin Encarnacion also had trouble at the plate.

Marcus Stroman. surprisingly, struggled on the mound this year.  He was suppose to be the best young pitcher in the Blue Jay's rotation.

Before I stopped watching completely, the Jays were making crucial fielding errors, specifically during the huge series of games when the Toronto faced all the teams in their division.

What is there to say.  I lost faith.

As I watched the locker room celebration, I wasn't excited.  Instead, I was shocked.

The Jays finish the regular season with a 89-73 record, tied with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Blue Jays face the Orioles tomorrow  in the wildcard game.

The winner faces the Texas Rangers in the American League Divisional series.

That is going to be intriguing if the Jays win the wildcard game because it means it is going to be a rematch of last year's divisional series.

I wonder if Jose is going flip his bat again?
