Rumour Mill: Halak Could Stay With The Isles
Before the World Cup Of Hockey (WCOH) tournament, there were speculations that the New York Islanders were going to part ways with goalie, Jaroslav Halak
Now, things are different.
Why?
It is because of Halak's performance at the WCOH tournament.
Halak successfully backstopped Team Europe and helped his team make the WCOH Finals against Canada.
Before the WCOH tournament, the Isles had a bit of a goaltending problem.
This stems from the good performance that backup goalie,Thomas Greiss had during last year's playoffs.
Greiss helped the Isles win their first playoff series in 23 years.
After the playoffs, questions arose on what to do with Halak.
The answer seemed to be to release him.
That's all changed now.
Reports are now indicating that the Isles are going to hang on to both goalies at the beginning of the season.
After that, who knows what's going to happen.
