Philadelphia Flyers Extend Winning Streak

The Philadelphia Flyers are on a five game winning streak and currently placed fourth in the metropolitan division. While standing at 14-10-3, the Flyers extended there winning streak with a 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators Sunday night. 

Wayne Simmonds' had a pair of power play goals to get the win and extend the streak in Nashville. Simmonds opened the scoring with just 1:48 to play in the first period. He netted his second shot at 6:47 of the second period. 

Steve Mason as turned into a steady goalie for the Flyers, with 30 saves this evening. This was his 10th start in the last 11 games, and he is thriving on the workload. "This is the situation I want to be in," said Mason, who has gotten most of the playing time since Michal Neuvirth went down with a knee injury two weeks ago.

 Mason has a .945 save percentage.

The Flyers next take the ice Tuesday at 7pm EST., as they welcome the Florida Panthers  (12-11-2) at the Wells Fargo Center.
