College Football Playoff Rankings Predictions for 11-13-18

1. Alabama (10-0) (-)

The Roll Tide rolled through 16 Miss State 24-0 on Saturday, showing that they are possibly the best team in the country. The one issue that I witnessed was the OL struggles. QB Tua Tagovailoa kept on getting sacked, and is took its toll when he had to leave the game. Even worse, when he left, Jalen Hurts took over the offense, and it just looked bad. You can tell that the whole offense now surrounds Tagovailoa, and Hurts is just there for the ride. It has been reported that Tagovailoa will be ready for the next game, but they might as well let him heal, because they face FCS team Citadel.

2. Clemson (10-0) (-)

There is not much new to say about Clemson. They did look and perform superbly at 17 Boston College, who has been better than it has in years. Nobody stood out too much. QB Trevor Lawrence had an average game, as did RB Travis Etienne. With the win, the Tigers clinched the ACC Atlantic again and will face of the winner of the ACC Coastal Division. I am sorry that there is little movement this week, because it is the first time since 2009 that AP Poll teams 1-10 in Week 11 or later were 10-0.

3. Notre Dame (10-0) (-)

The Fighting Irish took care of a disappointing Florida State 42-13 on Saturday. Backup quarterback Brandon Wimbush was ok, but did what he was supposed to do. There was 365 total yards rushing, which carried the heavy load for the offense. The defense also did its part, forcing two fumbles and having an interception. Notre Dame face off against 13 Syracuse this weekend, before finishing their season against USC.

4. Michigan (9-1) (-)

After the first quarter, it appeared that Michigan could be upset by Rutgers. But after the first quarter, Michigan ran away with the game, winning 42-7. It is not like Rutgers is good, who fell to 1-9 on the season, but the pure dominance quarters 2-4 was spectacular. The defense held, and the offense just kept producing. Their next game should be easy, which is against Indiana. The true test will be the 1-2 games afterwards, which is against 10 Ohio State and the BIG TEN Championship if they beat the Buckeyes.

5. Georgia (9-1) (-)

The Georgia Bulldogs defeated rivals 24 Auburn 27-10 to strengthen their resume. The continuous key factor for the Bulldogs is their running game. Every game they seem to rack up insane numbers. This is due to good blocking by the lineman and route running by the backs. Their final two regular season games shouldn't be too challenging. Their focus should be on the SEC Championship against Alabama, which will virtually have the winner be in the top four and the loser perhaps out of the top four.

6. Oklahoma (9-1) (-)

Oh Oklahoma, can you please just stay consistent? I understand that the Sooners did win the Bedlam rivalry 48-47 over Oklahoma State. But it was the way that they won it that makes me unsure. If Oklahoma State would have just taken the XP, the game would have been tied and go to OT where either team could have won. Or, if the Cowboys would have completed the two-point conversion I wouldn't even be talking about the Sooners. My point is their defense and the loss to Texas, which is looking worse and worse as time passes, is preventing them from being in the playoff. The bright side is they do face 9 West Virginia in two weeks, which will practically be their title game.

Rankings 7-10

7. LSU (8-2) (-)

Obviously the committee loves LSU, putting them over one-loss teams, but they barely beat a bad Arkansas team.

8. Washington State (8-1) (-)

The Cougars did have a nice win over unranked Colorado, and are still hoping for chaos to erupt above them.

9. Ohio State (9-1) (+1)

I have them passing West Virginia due to their win over 18 Michigan State, while West Virginia didn't play a ranked team.

10. West Virginia (8-1) (-1)

Did beat TCU 47-10, but still little chance for top four.
