Predictions for the 2019 Super Bowl

Sorry again for this being the only article this week, I am struggling on what to write about. Once this is done, I will probably be writing about the NFL Off-season, NBA Playoffs, MLB starting at Spring Training, and March Madness.

Los Angeles Rams vs New England Patriots

The Super Bowl is labeled as the top teams from each conference battling the ultimate battle for the name of the best football team of that season. Some could argue that this is not the case this season, but I would consider this a pretty close match.

The Patriots are just as good as they have been this last decade with QB Tom Brady at the helm of a great attack. The consistency in coaching is astonishing and it shows normally on a weekly basis. Their defense has been better than expected, strong and consistent with a great D-Line. The real X-Factor is HC Bill Belichick. His amount of knowledge and experience is better than money can buy and may be a huge factor in this game.

The Rams have been fantastic for the majority of the season, with their worst loss to Philadelphia and a close call against Green Bay. QB Jared Goff has improved massively since last season, having thrown for 4,688 yards and 32 TDs in the regular season, which is over 1,000 yards more than last season. Having a successful does help a young quarterback like Goff, and RBs Todd Gurley and recent boomer C.J. Anderson have certainly been crucial to the offense. I am not too afraid about Gurley barely playing in the NFC Championship because I don't think it was nerves, but rather an injury that was originally overlooked by the medical team. The deciding factor in this for LA may be their defense, especially their front seven. If players like Defensive Player of the Year DT Aaron Donald, DT Ndamukong Suh, and LB Dante Fowler Jr. can put pressure on Brady and even put him on his back a couple times each half, they may have a shot.

Prediction:

This game will be close like all Super Bowls should be. If New England can shut down the run game and consistently score, I see them winning. But if LA can knock down Tom Brady once in a while and don't crack under the pressure the Lombardi trophy could be traveling to the West coast. The most intriguing battle that I have not talked about was Belichick vs McVay, if McVay can finally outsmart the legend and future hall-of-fame coach. I believe that Rams running game will not stop and Brady will get hit multiple times and the Rams will win the Super Bowl. MVP will either be RB C.J. Anderson or DT Ndamukong Suh. Don't be too surprised though if the Patriots comeback late and win in the same town of the team they did it too two seasons ago (sorry Atlanta).

Score: Rams 34 Patriots 28
