The Baltimore Orioles are in the thick of the AL wild-card race, but it is always good to see what the future holds for the Orioles. They might have one of the most underrated farm systems in all of baseball.

Catcher Chance Sisco is ranked first on the top 30 Orioles prospects list. He is projected to reach the majors sometime this season. His batting average is .278 with 4 homeruns and 39 RBI's. The Orioles catching position hasn't been that strong this season.

Austin Hays is ranked second on the top 30 Orioles prospects list. He is an outfielder and is projected to reach the majors in 2019. His batting average is .332 with 26 homeruns and 74 RBI's, along with 4 stolen bases.

Ryan Mountcastle is ranked third on the top 30 Orioles prospects list. He is a shortstop and is projected to reach the majors in 2019. His batting average is .291 with 15 homeruns and 53 RBI's, along with 8 stolen bases.

Cedric Mullins is ranked fifth on the top 30 Orioles prospects list. He is an outfielder and is projected to reach the majors in 2018. His batting average is .315 with 10 homeruns and 32 RBI's, along with 6 stolen bases.

Left handed pitcher Tanner Scott (ranked sixth) and right handed pitcher Hunter Harvey (ranked seventh), have been on the disabled list for most of the season.

Keegan Akin is ranked eight on Baltimore's top 30 prospects list. He is also on the disabled list, but Akin has been pitching for the most of the season. He is projected to reach the majors sometime next season. Akin's record is 7-8 with a 4.14 ERA. In 100 innings, he has walked 46 batters and struck out 111.

Zac Lowther is ranked thirteenth on Baltimore's top 30 prospects list. He is a left handed pitcher. Lowther is projected to reach the majors in 2020. He has appeared in 7 games this season. His record is 1-0 with a 0.95 ERA. In 28.1 innings, he has walked 4 batters and struck out 35.

If Baltimore keeps there veterans around like Adam Jones, Chris Davis, Manny Machado, and so forth, the youth could help them out in a couple of years to possibly a championship. For more information on these prospects go to MLB.com and click on players and also top prospects.
