Falcons Interception Late Seals Victory over Saints

Deion Jones intercepted Drew Brees in the end zonewith 1:25 remaining for the Falcons to lift Atlanta to a 20-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Matt Bryant hit the game-winning field goal from 52 yards out with 3:54 remaining in the game for the Falcons.

With the game tied at 3 in the second quarter, Devonta Freeman scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. He finished with 91 yards rushing on 24 carries and a touchdown. Tommylee Lewis caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees in the second-quarter for the Saints. Lewis finished with two receptions for 30 yards receiving and a touchdown.

In the third quarter, Michael Thomas caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees. Thomas finished with 10 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown. Brees completed 26-of-35 passes for 271 yards two touchdowns and one interception.

Mark Ingram was the Saints leading rushing with 49 yards on 12 carries. He also caught four passes for 43 yards receiving. Alvin Kamara left the game in the first for the Saints. He didn't return because of a concussion. He rushed for two yards and caught three passes for 25 yards receiving.

Later in the third, Matt Ryan threw a 8-yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Sanu. Sanu finished with six receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. Matt Ryan completed 15-of-27 passes for 221 yards one touchdown and three interceptions. Ryan wasn't all that spectacular and the Falcons were lucky to win the game. Julio Jones finished with five receptions for 98 yards.

The Saints will host the New York Jets (5-7) next Sunday and the Falcons will be on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-8) next Monday Night.
