A bad decision made by Pittsburgh Penguins Olli Maatta led to a 2 on 1 for the Calgary Flames and Mark Giordano scored on a one timer past Tristan Jarry to give Calgary a 2-1 victory in overtime. The Flames have now won five straight games against the Penguins.

Sean Monahan scored a power-play goal for Calgary with 4:07 left in regulation. The Penguins pulled the net minder and Kris Letang ripped a shot and Patric Hornqvist deflected it in to tie the game at one with 1:12 remaining in regulation.

Tristan Jarry made 32 saves in his season debut for the Penguins. Mike Smith was outstanding for the Flames with 43 saves.

Despite Pittsburgh losing another second game on a back-to-back situation, they had a lot of positives. They didn't go blown out, they got shots on net, and they now actually have a backup goalie.

These two teams will play each other one more time this season.
