Foggy Night Lifts Patriots over Falcons

It was a foggy and rainy night at Gillette Stadium between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots. It was a Super Bowl LI rematch and New England easily won 23-7.

New England scored both touchdowns in the second quarter and they were scored by Brandin Cooks (11-yard catch) and James White (2-yard catch). Cooks finished with four receptions for 65 yards receiving and a touchdown. James White finished with five receptions for 28 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Tom Brady completed 21-of-29 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns. Stephen Gostkowski made three field goals for the Patriots (29, 21, and 38 yards). Dion Lewis rushed for 76 yards on 13 carries.

The lone touchdown in the game for Atlanta came on a Julio Jones 1-yard reception. Jones finished with nine receptions for 99 yards receiving and a touchdown. Ryan completed 23-of-33 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons offense was stopped on fourth down a couple of times in the game.

The Atlanta Falcons will be on the road against the New York Jets (3-4) next Sunday and the New England Patriots will host the Los Angeles Chargers (3-4) next Sunday.
