The Detroit Lions and the New York Giants have won close games often this season. Maybe one of them would actually win comfortably this time around. The Giants defeated the Lions 17 to 6.

In the first quarter, Eli Manning threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard. Shepard finished with 4 catches for 56 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.

The only other touchdown in the game came in the fourth-quarter on a 4-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. from Eli Manning. Beckham finished with 6 catches for 64 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Manning finished with 201 yards passing and 2 touchdowns.

The Giants clinched the game when Matthew Stafford threw an interception to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Stafford actually had a solid day through the air with 273 passing yards. He didn't throw a touchdown pass, but he did have 1 interception. Golden Tate had 8 catches for 122 yards receiving.

The Giants can clinch a playoff with a win on Thursday Night at Philadelphia (5-9).
