Green Bay Packers Training Camp Preview

Aaron Rodgers can only carry this team so far when the Packers defense doesn't show up week in and week out. The Packers could possibly have the best offense heading into this season, but they could also have the worst defense.

Aaron Rodgers is obviously the starter. Brett Hundley will be the backup. Joe Callahan and Taysom Hill will compete for the third quarterback spot.

Ty Montgomery will be the starting running back. He converted to running back after Eddie Lacy and others went down to injury last season. They had so much depth at wide receiver that Montgomery decided to convert. He also was a running back in high school anyways.

The other running backs competing for jobs are all rookies. That will be a very fun competition to watch at training camp for the Packers incase someone gets injured. Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones, Devante Mays, Kalif Phillips, and William Stanback will compete for the second, third, and fourth spots on the roster.

Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and Davante Adams will be the top three wide receivers on the roster. Geronimo Allison, Jeff Janis, and Trevor Davis will be the other receivers on the roster.

Martellus Bennett will be the top tight end on this offense. He will be a dangerous vertical threat. Richard Rogers will be the second tight end. Lance Kendricks will be the third tight end on the roster.

The offensive line usually gets banged up often during the regular season but when it is healthy, it is usually pretty good. The starters will probably be David Bakhtiari, Lane Taylor, Corey Linsley, Jahri Evans, and Bryan Bulaga. Don Barclay will be a very good versatile lineman if somebody gets injured.

Dom Capers is in charge of the Packers defense and he should have been fired in the offseason, but he wasn't. If the Packers defense struggles once again, Capers will be one of the reasons why it does.

According to pro football focus, the Packers blitzed 3.3% of the time with cornerbacks. That was tied highest in the league with the New York Giants. Could that explain why the Packers defense has been so bad?

Kenny Clark, Christian Ringo, and Mike Daniels will be the starters on the defensive line. Ricky Jean-Francois and Montravius Adams will be in the rotation as well on the defensive line.

The Packers linebackers are actually pretty good. The starters will be Nick Perry, Jake Ryan, Blake Martinez, and Clay Matthews. Jay Elliott and Jordan Tripp will probably be in the rotation as well.

The secondary was a joke last season for the Packers. They also happened to be injured as well. The starters will be Damarious Randall, Morgan Burnett, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, and Davon House.

Quinten Rollins and Kevin King will be the next corners in line to play if anyone gets injured. I don't think the Packers want to see Josh Hawkins or LaDarius Gunter playing corner this season.

Mason Crosby will be the Packers kicker. Justin Vogel will be the Packers punter. Ty Montgomery will be the team's kick returner. Randall Cobb will be the team's punt returner.

Green Bay has super bowl aspirations once again, but it will be up to how well the defense will perform.
