The Buffalo Bills had a chance to prove that they were quality contenders against the New York Jets on Thursay Night. The Jets squandered that opportunity for them as New York defeated Buffalo 34-21.

Josh McCown scored on a 10-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for the Jets. In the second quarter, Zay Jones caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor. Jones finished with six receptions for 53 yards receiving and a touchdown.

With the Jets leading 10-7 in the third quarter, Robby Anderson caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Josh McCown. Anderson finished with four receptions for 48 yards receiving and a touchdown. McCown completed 14-of-20 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 13 yards on five carries and a score.

Matt Forte scored on a 10-yard touchdown for the Jets later in the third. He also scored on a 5-yard touchdown run in the fourth. Forte finished with 77 rushing yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns. He also had 19 receiving yards on four catches.

The Bills scored two touchdowns late by Deonte Thompson (26-yard touchdown catch) and Tyrod Taylor (1-yard rush). Thompson finished with seven receptions for 81 yards receiving and a touchdown. Taylor completed 29-of-40 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 35 yards on six carries and a touchdown.

LeSean McCoy was completely shutdown. He only rushed for 25 yards on 12 carrries. Buffalo was sacked seven times and turned the ball over three times.

The Buffalo Bills will host the New Orleans Saints (5-2) next Sunday and the New York Jets will travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers (2-5) next Sunday.
