Marcus Smart 3-pointer helps Celtics top Knicks

Marcus Smart's 15 points off the bench, including the game winning 3-pointer with 47 seconds remaining, lifted the Boston Celtics to a 119 to 114 victory over the New York Knicks. Before the game winner, the Knicks went on a 16-3 run to tie the game at 112.

After the Celtics scored, Carmelo Anthony was smothered by Avery Bradley, who forced a turnover on him. The Celtics hit a couple of free throws. When it was 118 to 114 with under 10 seconds remaining, Kristaps Porzingis's shot was blocked by Al Horford and it put the icing on the cake.

Horford had 2 blocks along with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the Celtics. He played with energy all game long. The Celtics struggled early in the game from 3-point land, but they went 14 for 36 from downtown. Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 27 points, and he also had 4 assists. Jae Crowder had 16 points and 6 rebounds for the Celtics.

Carmelo Anthony had 29 points and 7 rebounds. Porzingis had 22 points and 12 rebounds. Courtney Lee only had 11 points, but he shot 44% from the field and he maybe should have shot the ball more.

These teams will play each other 2 more times this season.
