Murray Sharp in Penguins Victory

Matt Murray stopped 27 out of 28 shots for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he was calm and effective all night in a 4 to 1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Phil Kessel scored in the first period for the Penguins. Patric Hornqvist scored twice in the second for Pittsburgh. 

Gabriel Landeskog scored the lone goal of the game on the power play for the Avalanche, in the third period. Chris Kunitz scored an empty netter for the Penguins. Calvin Pickard stopped 26 shots for the Avalanche. These two teams split the season series.
