When Zach Ertz's 11-yard touchdown reception (failed 2-point conversion) with 2:21 remaining in the fourth-quarter happened, everyone was immediately thinking of the overturned touchdown for Pittsburgh Steelers Jesse James back in week 15. When the ruling was announced, it was confirmed that Ertz (seven receptions 67 yards and a touchdown) became a runner and it gave the Eagles the lead for good. Philadelphia won their first Super Bowl in franchise history against the New England Patriots 41-33.

On New England's next drive after Ertz's touchdown, Brady was strip sacked by Brandon Graham and it was recovered by Derek Barnett. Afterwards, Jake Elliott drilled a 46-yard field goal with 1:10 remaining. Tom Brady got the ball one more time, but his 49-yard hail mary was incomplete at the end of the game.

With the game tied at three in the first-quarter, Nick Foles threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery. Jeffery finished with three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. LeGarrette Blount scored on a 21-yard rushing touchdown in the second for the Eagles. He finished with 90 rushing yards on 14 carries and a touchdown (failed 2-point conversion).

With New England trailing 15-6 later in the second, James White scored on a 26-yard touchdown run. White finished with 45 yards rushing on seven carries and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 21 yards receiving.

On a fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line, the Eagles called a trick play as Corey Clement took the snap and reversed it to Trey Burton and Burton threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Nick Foles.

On the opening drive in the second-half for the Patriots, Rob Gronkowski caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady. Later in the third, Corey Clement caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Nick Foles. Clement caught four passes for 100 yards receiving and a touchdown and he also had eight yards rushing on three carries. Foles completed 28-of-43 passes for 373 yards three touchdowns and one interception. Foles was named Super Bowl LII MVP.

Later in the third, Brady threw a 26-yard touchdown strike to Chris Hogan. Hogan finished with six receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown. Danny Amendola was the Patriots leading receiver with eight receptions for 152 yards.

With the Patriots trailing 32-26 in the fourth, Brady threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski caught nine passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Brady completed 28-of-48 passes for 505 yards and three touchdowns. Brady was the first quarter back ever to throw for over 500 yards in a super bowl.

The Eagles and the Patriots combined for a Super Bowl record 1,151 yards. The previous record was set by the Washington Redskins and the Denver Broncos back in Super Bowl XXII with 929 yards.
