Three Goal Third Period Lifts Penguins over Blues

With the game tied at one in the third after the Blues had a goal waived off because of a high stick, someone needed to make a key play to give there team the lead. Bryan Rust forced a turnover in the neutral zone and he scored on a fast break goal 1:05 into the third. Pittsburgh scored three goals in the third and it helped them defeat St. Louis 4-1 on Sunday Afternoon.

Kyle Brodziak scored the lone goal for the Blues 3:10 into the second period. :21 seconds later, Sidney Crosby tied the game at one and it was his 400th career goal.

When Pittsburgh led 2-1 in the third, Matt Murray made a ridiculous glove save on Vladimir Tarasenko. Later in the third, Dominik Simon forced a turnover in the Blues zone and Riley Sheahan deaked Jake Allen and scored.

Sidney Crosby scored an empty-net goal for the Penguins with 2:48 remaining. Matt Murray made 33 saves for the Penguins. Jake Allen made 15 saves for the Blues. Pittsburgh and St. Louis split the season series and they could meet in the Stanley Cup Finals but the odds are they won't.
