Penguins Top Rangers in Overtime

Phil Kessel forced a turnover in the New York Rangers zone and then he passed the puck to Evgeni Malkin and scored 58 seconds into overtime as the Pittsburgh Penguins came back to win 5-4.

Phil Kessel and Carl Hagelin both scored goals for the Penguins in the first period. David Desharnais, Pavel Buchnevuch (power play), and J.T. Miller (power play) scored for the Rangers in the second period.

Patric Hornqvist tied the game at 3 with under two minutes remaining in the second period on the power play. Michael Grabner gave the Rangers the lead with 12 minutes remaining in regulation.

With the goalie pulled for the Penguins, Sidney Crosby was the behind the net and he banked it in off Henrik Lundqvist to tie the game at 4. The rest was history.

Matt Murray made 28 saves for the Penguins. Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves for the Rangers. These two teams will play each other three more times this season.
