Raiders Take 1st Place in AFC West...for now

The Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders hasn't felt like a rivalry over the past decade, but it sure felt like it last night. Both teams entered the game with a 6-2 record, and the winner would claim sole possession of 1st place in the AFC West momentarily.

The Raiders defeated the Broncos 30 to 20. This game was also in prime time and it showed Oakland wasn't afraid of the challenge. It seems like nothing has bothered them much all season long and they just keep playing.

Oakland jumped out to a 13 to 0 lead in the second-quarter when Latavius Murray scored on a 1-yard rush. Denver would respond on their next drive with a 36-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Norwood from Trevor Siemian. Siemian finished with 283 yards passing 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Murray would score again from the 1-yard line later in the quarter. Denver would make a field goal before halftime.

With the Raiders leading 23 to 13 in the fourth-quarter, Murray scored his third touchdown of the day, which was also from 1-yard out. He finished with 114 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns.  Derek Carr had a good day with 184 passing yards.

Kapri Bibbs would score on a 69-yard touchdown pass for the Broncos in garbage time. The Oakland Raiders will be on a bye week next week and then travel to Mexico City for a Monday Night game in week 11 against the Houston Texans (5-3).
