It might be only the preseason, but it is always good to evaluate who plays well in the preseason and who doesn't. The New York Giants dropped there second consecutive preseason game to the Cleveland Browns 10 to 6.

To me in these kind of games, it is more important to scout who can contribute to the team when the games actually matter.

Last night studs: Tight End Evan Engram: He caught three passes for 32 yards. Engram ran the right routes and didn't drop a pass. He will be a solid option in the passing game this season.

Linebacker B.J. Goodson: The second year linebacker from Clemson is becoming a solid leader on the defensive side of the ball. He doesn't take a play off and is always chasing down somebody. Goodson had seven total tackles and one sack.

Running Back Wayne Gallman: He only played for a series or two, but Gallman made the most of it. He rushed for 22 yards on five carries and caught two passes for 20 yards. With Paul Perkins as the starter, the number two running back is still up for grabs. Only negative was Gallman fumbled.

Quarterback Eli Manning: Manning completed 10 of 14 passes for 80 yards. He made good decisions when passing the ball.

Safety Nat Berhe: He had six total tackles and played well in coverage. Berhe is fighting for a roster spot.

Kickers Mike Nugent & Aldrick Rosas: The both nailed a field goal when there name was called upon. Nugent drilled a 38-yard field goal and Rosas made a 47-yard field goal. This will be a tough battle, but the Giants can only keep one field goal kicker on the roster.

Duds: Quarterbacks Geno Smith & Josh Johnson: For the second consecutive week, Smith and Johnson do not impress in the preseason. Smith completed 11 out of 17 passes for 79 yards, but he threw an interception off his back foot in the redzone. Smith also called a timeout when it wasn't necessary too. Josh Johnson completed two out of four passes for six yards, and he and Wayne Gallman fumbled an exchange on the first play Johnson came in. This is easily opening up the door for rookie Davis Webb to become the backup quarterback.

Running Back Paul Perkins: He had trouble finding the holes and only rushed for 10 yards on six carries.

Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall: Marshall only caught one pass for two yards and he left the game with a shoulder injury. He hasn't found much rhythm in the Giants offense so far.

The offensive line: They gave up two sacks and can't seem to run block. The offensive line needs to get better.

Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. left the game with an ankle injury and he should be ok. Beckham Jr. had three receptions for 37 yards. The Giants next preseason game is on Saturday Night against the New York Jets.
