World Series Preview

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

This World Series has so many headlines for different reasons. The Cleveland Indians haven't won the World Series since 1948, and the Chicago Cubs haven't won the World Series since 1908. One of those droughts is about to come to an end. Terry Francona, manager of the Indians, has won 2 championships with the Boston Red Sox. Joe Maddon, manager of the Cubs, has been to the World Series once in 2008 but lost as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Kyle Schwarber returns to the Chicago Cubs lineup after tearing his ACL in early April. He will be an extra weapon in this dangerous Cubs lineup. They already have Javier Baez, Addison Russell, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo. They defeated the San Francisco Giants in 4 games in the NLDS, and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 6 games in the NLCS.

The Indians are know for a solid starting pitching staff. Their key weapon is reliever Andrew Miller. He can pitch in mid-relief or close a game. They don't hit the ball very well though. The Cubs staff isn't strong but not weak. Carlos Santana and Jason Kipnis are key players in their lineup. They need other guys to step up.

The pick: Cleveland in 6.
