Jacob deGrom was absolutely dominant against the Arizona Diamondbacks, going 7 innings, allowing only 1 run, and striking out 13 without a walk. The 13 strikeouts tied a career high for Jake, who improved to 4-0 on the year with the win, and dropped his ERA to 1.75 on the year. Michael Conforto also highlighted the Mets win, with his second career 4 hit night, and his 10th and 11th RBIs of the season. Wilmer Flores had an RBI and a run scored as well, a nice night for him. The Mets have had a lot of team wins this season, but this one belongs to Jake and Michael. Paul Goldschmidt's struggles continue for Arizona, taking home the golden sombrero, and dropping his BA to .203 for the year, dangerously close to the Mendoza Line. New York needed this win badly, and look to take the series and win back to back for the first time in 5 weeks with Steven Matz on the mound tomorrow. A much needed win for the Amazins, who were berated with talks of trading deGrom and Syndergaard, remind people they're still capable of winning.
