Mets-Marlins series preview
The Mets welcome the Marlins to Citi Field for a 3 game series, the final 3 games of an 8-game homestand that the Mets are already 4-1 on. The Marlins are coming off an awful series in Atlanta. Although they only lost 2 out of 3, they lead 9-4 in the bottom of the 9th with 1 out and nobody on and lost 10-9. The Mets will go with Vargas, Wheeler, and deGrom against the fish. The Mets need to continue to fatten up against second division teams. After going 3-0 in Miami, the Mets have a chance to keep their hot streak going and close out a successful homestand. With a tough 7-game roadtrip on the horizon, the Mets need to take advantage whenever possible. The Mets offense has woken up a little recently, scoring 25 runs in the past 5 games. If it can stay hot against the Marlins, and the starters deliver some quality innings, the Mets should have no problem taking care of the last place Marlins.
