Fast Facts and Power Rankings- Richmond International Raceway

Here are the current stats going into this weeks race at Richmond International Raceway, along with some fast facts about the track and a look at the current points standings and chase outlook.

Can Carl Edwards continue his dominating ways at RIR? -  he climbed 2 spots in NASCAR.com's Power Rankings

Jimmie Johnson has 4 straight races outside of the top 10 at Richmond. He dropped 2 spots on the chart, so I would drop him this week for the fantasy picks

The come from way behind, catch up at the last minute performance puts Dale Jr fifth on the power rankings, up 1 spot. A definite pick for my roster.

Kurt Busch is currenly 7th on the power rankings, and he is the defending spring winner. He climbs up 2 spots on the list for this week.

On the rookie watch is Chase Elliott, driving the legendary # 24 for HMS. He started and finished 16th last year at this track. I'd put him in for a value pick this week.

Now lets take a look at the chase grid at it stands this week after Bristol.

If the chase were to start today (a little to early for that to happen, Ricky Stenhouse Jr would be on the bubble and Ryan Newman would be facing elimination. But he's been there before, right?

Highest in points with no wins is Joey Logano, and Dale Earnhardt Jr is knocking on the door of a win. Coming from 2 laps down at the beginning of the race at Bristol shows determination, if nothing else.

And now for the (useless?) trivia about Richmond.
