Patrik Laine Scores an Own Goal That Decides the Game

What a terrible way to end a game. Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine was backtracking to defend against the Edmonton Oilers break, but ultimately gave the Jets a goal.

Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck turned toward his left to save the initial shot which reflected off his pads to Laine. Laine swung his stick as if he was taking a good shot, but it was not the right goal. He didn't get credit for the goal.

Not only did he giving the opposing team a point, the shot ended up giving the game to the Oilers. Other than that Laine has been having a fairly good season scoring 17 goals through his first 32 games.
