Cubs take game 5.
Hi everybody. The Chicago Cubs are still alive in the World Series. This is the result of a 3-2 victory in a crucial game 5. The Cubs Pitching was lights out on Sunday night. And the Cubs needed AROLDIS Chapman to close the game out and you will see why in just a moment. The Cubs have forced a game 6 in Cleveland on Tuesday night.
John Lester got a big win on Sunday night. Lester went 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, He did strikeout 5 and he did give up a home run. Trevor Bauer had a off night. Bauer allowed 6 hits 3 earned runs, 1 home run but he did have 7 strikeouts. AROLDIS Chapman was the real hero in game 5 when he came in and got the save in the must win Situation. Chapman came in and pitched 2 2/3 innings only allowing 1 hit and he had 4 strikeouts. It was the 1st time since May of 2012 that Chapman entered a game in the 7th inning. And he has recorded 8 saves in the postseason.
Cubs Manager Joe MADDON had this to say about Chapman and the Cubs Chances after game 5. " Chapman is like a Wizard on the Mound you can almost count on a victory If he's on the mound in situations like this. I had no choice but to go to the wall in this game because it was do or die. I live for these situations. After what we did Sunday night you have to believe we have a chance going back to Cleveland. We have the only other pitcher who Beat Cleveland in the World Series and if we can force a game 7
I really do believe that we can win it all. You also might want to thank Kris Bryant who hit the Home Run that gave us life in game 5 as well."
So Joe MADDON says the Cubs have a chance to win it all. Here's my take, The Cubs have to win 2 straight in Cleveland they lost game 1 6-0. The Only Pitcher to stop the Indians at Wrigley won game 5 I give you that. But the Series heads back to Cleveland and the Indians fans will be out in Full Force. The Chicago part of the Series is over. Now it's progressive field the next 2 games possibly. Game 6 is on Tuesday. The Cubs still need help because they have to win the next 2. The Indians can put it away in game 6. And if they do they Celebrate like the Cavs did in June. The Cubs can still win but they still need to dig themselves out of the Canyon.
I don't see that happening because the Indians have been lights out with everybody else on the Mound. But Bauer is done for the season unless we have a game 7.
Here are the game 6 starters. The Indians send Josh Tomlin to the Mound. Tomlin got a no decision in game 3. But he has a 1.76 ERA. The Cubs send Jake ARRIETA to the Mound. ARREITA won game 2 of the series and he has a 3.78 ERA. Can the Indians stop ARREITA or will we have a game 7 on Wednesday night. We will see what happens 1st in game 6 on Tuesday night.
