No.23 Virginia shocks No.5 North Carolina.

Hello everybody. The No.23 Virginia Cavaliers upset the No.5 North Carolina Tar Heels 53-43 on Monday. North Carolina had a chance to clinch the ACC regular season outright with a win over Virginia. But they had to go on the Road to Charlottesville and you know the Cavaliers have an old saying, the first team to 50 wins. That's what it came down to on Monday night.

Virginia's shooting was very nice considering they pride their Basketball team to play defense anyway you can. And that's what the Virginia's Men's Basketball team is very good at. But they had some leading scores for the game.

Kyle Guy, he had 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He was the player of the game in my opinion. And he can play some defense.

Devon Hall, he had 11 points along with 5 assists and 1 rebound. This player is a outstanding Guard and he proved it on Monday Night.

Landon PERRANTES, He had 13 points along with 1 rebound and 4 assists. He played a great game on both ends of the Basketball.

The Virginia Cavaliers had a great night making UNC's life miserable. But North Carolina did it to themselves as well. They couldn't get anything going at all. Joel Berry was the only Highlight of the night with 12 points, 2 assists and 5 rebounds. The rest of the North Carolina's starters couldn't do anything all night. He's a case in point Between Justin Jackson, Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks had a combined 14 points between the three of them.  And as far as averages for the game UNC only shoot 25% from 3-point land and only averaged 35.4% from the field.

Virginia Coach Tony Bennett was a very happy man after Virginia's win on Monday Night. Do you remember nine days ago when he took full responsibility for Virginia's 24 point loss to North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Monday night was a whole other story. He praised his team and he gave his team full credit for winning this game. Bennett also added that we have the ACC tournament coming up and I'm very confident in my players and these young men are going to give it 120% going forward and we will make some noise in the ACC tournament.

North Carolina Coach Roy Williams had a view of we ran into a defensive freight train. Williams said after the game, we didn't do much of anything wrong. We just ran into on of the best defenses in the country and it was literally the first to 50 wins. That's pretty much what happened on Monday night. I am very disappointed that we couldn't win the ACC regular season outright. But we will win the ACC Tournament. I am very confident of that in the long. But in the Short term we have Duke to worry about on Saturday Night.

As for what's next for both teams, they have 1 more game left before the ACC tournament.

Virginia Plays Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon.

UNC plays Duke On Saturday Night.

And Speaking of UNC-Duke the Picture sums it up perfectly. Here's my take, This Duke-North Carolina rivalry game is not going to be just about the rivalry. It's going to be about if Duke can stop UNC from winning the ACC regular season crown. Both teams have a lot of work to do because both Duke and North Carolina have suffered loses. Duke lost to Miami 55-50 on Saturday to the Miami Hurricanes. And North Carolina Suffered this loss on Monday Night. UNC is the team that really needs to come together now when it comes to shooting. Here's a case in point, UNC averages 86.2 points per game. Monday Night they only scored 4 points in the final 9:26 against Virginia. This game will not be a game of the first team to 50 wins. I look for a battle of three pointers all the way to the end. And I will make this prediction now. I have a feeling we will see these teams facing off in the ACC tournament. And I might be the final so don't be surprised if both of these teams losing there last game is going to be a incentive for these two teams to try to make this game a battle all the way to the end.
