Tennessee Titans: Jayon Brown cleared to return to practice
After being placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list upon returning from the offseason break, the Tennessee Titans have updated us fans on the status of middle linebacker Jayon Brown.
Brown has been removed from the PUP list and could begin working on the field with his teammates by as early as Monday.
There was little information provided as to the reason behind his move to the PUP list, but many believe it dates back to the shoulder injury he suffered in the AFC Wild Card game against the New England Patriots.
Jayon left the game in serious pain and did not return in the 20-13 win. He also missed the AFC Division round win over the Baltimore Ravens before returning to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Championship round.
Brown was not close to 100 percent in that 35-24 defeat to the eventual Super Bowl champs and he could still be rehabbing from the problem.
The hopes heading into September are that Brown and Rashaan Evans can continue to guide the linebacking core with veteran Wesley Woodyard still available to come in off the sideline when rotation is needed.
It is frustrating that there has been no information given regarding Corey Davis' status, but like we have talked about several times, there is still plenty of time before the season gets underway and Davis is still very much a part of the Titans' offensive gameplan.
